Equipped with the learnings from their cumulative accounting experiences, the founders (Banua, Mangulad, Tinio, and Sy) decided to take their realm of competence to a different pathway. BMTS & Co., CPAs was born out of that endeavor. Registered at the Securities & Exchange Commission on June 25, 2013, BMTS & Co., CPAs was formally recognized as a commercial entity.
One of the major challenges that they faced in its supple stage was the small client pool that surely wouldn’t sustain the operations. The company started with merely 10 clients. This lack of sufficient clientele compelled their Managing Partner to give up his corporate job and focus on this newly-established Accounting Firm. The situation called for someone who would render full-time work in generating leads and expand the company’s client base. In hindsight, he thought it was an immense career risk to sacrifice a well-paying job and attempt to single-handedly run a company.
The Managing Partner together with Mr. Ajim Isip (Bookkeeper) and Ms. Julie Salazar (Messenger) were their first employees who helped build the firm from its grassroots. The sacrifice entailed them on working double-time to finish the required reports for their first batch of clients.
Soon enough, BMTS & Co., CPAs slowly started to carve a space in the accounting firm industry and was able to sustain itself through client referrals. As a startup, they recognized the challenge of giving quality service to their then existing clients so that, through word-of-mouth marketing and client referrals, it can build for them a bigger client base.
